Quilters Warm Residents’ Hearts with a Caring Donation

Rose House residents received a special gift of handmade quilts! The Garden State Quilters Guild donated 32 quilts. That’s a quilt for each resident to enjoy! (Pictured are Felicia and Diana from our Parsippany Group Home)

A variety of colors and patterns adorned the cozy quilts. Designed with special care, they are suitable for male or female residents. For example, a male resident’s quilt had Major League Baseball logos. Females received quilts with mostly colorful, floral patterns.

Seven teachers founded the Garden State Quilters Guild in 1981. Their goal was to share their love of quilting with the community. Today, the guild boasts 250+ members with a wide range of quilting experience. The quilters represent diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Garden State Quilters always welcomes new members. Meetings are held from September to June, on the second Monday of the month. The quilters meet at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison, NJ. The organization also offers workshops at the church or Sew Jersey in East Hanover, NJ. Visit www.gardenstatequiltersguild.com for more membership information.
